Free Walking Tour Rome | Secret Rome
The Free Walking Tour "From the Pagan to the Christian Rome" is a fascinating experience, created by locals, that will let you know the main cultural sites of the Ancient Rome and a great chance to meet and have fun with other people!
We will start the tour in Largo di Torre Argentina, where Giulio Cesare was murdered; then we will visit the Pantheon, a unique place for its architectural structure and a wonderful example of contamination between Paganism and Christianity; later Piazza Navona, projected by Bernini and Borromini, heart of the Baroque. Then we will go through the works of Caravaggio and his troubled life, visiting threediverse churches: Saint Louis of the French (San Luigi dei Francesi), Sant'Agostino (and Biblioteca Angelica) and Saint Lawrence in Lucina (San Lorenzo in Lucina). Finally we will move to Piazza di Spagna, emblematic example of the Baroque period and perfect monument of beauty, elegance and geometry, and we will finish the tour at Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi), the biggest and most popular fountain of Rome.
This tour wishes to show you the most popular and typical places of Rome together with its “hidden” and mysterious beauties and stories. We want to share our deep knowledge of the city, offering original and alternative trips and suggestions: you will have a complete experience of the “Caput mundi”, discovering unique places and feeling like a true Roman!
