Private Cairo Walking Tour

Discover the historic heart of Cairo with a private tour of Islamic Cairo, an immersive itinerary through ancient gates, mosques, traditional markets, medieval architecture and spectacular views over the city.
The tour begins along Al-Moez Street, one of the most important historic streets in Cairo, where Fatimid and Mamluk history comes to life through mosques, monuments and centuries-old buildings. You will pass through Bab Al Foutoh, the monumental Gate of Conquests, and discover landmarks such as Al-Hakim Mosque, Al-Aqmar Mosque, Hammam Inal, the Qalawun Complex and the Sabil-Kuttab of Khusraw Pasha.
The route continues into the heart of Khan el-Khalili, Cairo’s legendary historic bazaar. Walking through its lively alleys, shops and workshops, you will experience the colors, aromas and atmosphere of one of the most famous markets in the Arab world. You will also see some of the city’s historic cafés, including Fishawy Café and Umm Kulthum Café, before reaching Al-Azhar Mosque, one of the most important centers of Islamic culture and learning.
The second part of the tour takes you to Saladin Citadel, built in the 12th century on the Mokattam Hill to defend Cairo. Inside the fortress, you will visit the Mosque of Sultan Al-Nasir Muhammad and the spectacular Muhammad Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, one of Cairo’s most recognizable landmarks.
The tour ends at the Citadel’s panoramic terrace, offering breathtaking views over historic Cairo and, on clear days, even the Pyramids of Giza. The experience concludes with an exterior visit of Jawhara Palace, also known as the Palace of Jewels.
This private experience is perfect for travelers who want to discover Cairo through its history, architecture, spirituality and everyday life, while enjoying a more personal and flexible experience.
