Bolognese people would agree on that. We have spent our whole life walking under porticos that would find it difficult to live without them. For Bologna, it is twice as true. If you leave the city centre behind, passing Piazza Maggiore and taking via Saragozza straight ahead, at one point you will reach Porta Saragozza. Look up, beyond the walls… do you see it? That’s San Luca. The longest portico in the world will take us there. What? You can’t say you have been in Bologna if you don’t climb the hill. You will be rewarded with breathe-taking view!
