We live in an era of urban labyrinths, shaped by planning regulations—and we move through them every day. Murals, graffiti, and urban signs become traces, references, and sometimes monumental breadcrumbs: a visual Ariadne’s thread through the cityscape. The only way to truly orient ourselves is by getting lost. “La Deriva” (the drift) is the psychogeographic method we use to explore this context.
We’ve split this urban art tour into two distinct paths, offering two contrasting scenarios. In the Darsena area, just beyond Ravenna’s train station, street art retains its raw, ephemeral essence while evolving into a tool for urban regeneration. This district, with its in-between spaces, reflects a city in transformation.
The second part of the tour is by bike, along Tommaso Gulli street and its surroundings, leading to the “Street Art Citadel” on the edge of the suburban fabric. Here, large-scale murals created during different editions of the Subsidenze Festival reshape the neighborhood and become a vibrant dialogue between individuals and architecture.
