EAT Modena - Street Food Tour
Tour details
They keep on telling us that Tortellino was first made in Bologna. That's a lie. We have gone at war for far less - a bucket indeed. Modena has a long and rich food tradition, we don't need to lie about it. Receipts here are a state affair and jealously kept by old women, "le rezdore". A misspell word can be fatal. But don't worry, we are here to guide you through safely.
EAT Modena is the perfect combination between discovering the city and its food soul.
Together with a professional guide you will walk around the city center and stop in small shops and old markets where you will taste traditional local food and learn about the history of receipt as ancient as the city itself.
The tour starts with a real modenese breakfast: cappuccino and gnocco fritto (fried dough). Then we move to the main central Market, Mercato Albinelli. We stroll around the shops, we stop, eat (cold cuts and cheese), and go (you can buy local food here). Before ending, a balsamic vinegar tasting is a must. Then an ice-cream to conclude.

Hi! I’m John. I would like to book but it’s not clear when the tasting will take place.
Hi John! We usually suggest to start the tour on morning time because some of the places might be closed in the afternoon (e.i. the central market closes at 3.00 pm). On Sunday most of the shops are closed either.
Hi, my name is Shannon. I was wondering which kinf of tasting you offer during the tour and if it's suggested to have brekfast before. We don't know whether the tasting are planned at the end of the tour or what. Many thanks.
Hi Shannon, we usually start the tour around 10 am. We start with breakfast! Perhaps you shall have a coffee only. See you!
